Ultra Short-Throw
DarkStar® Max UST
EPV® Screens DarkStar® UST material is a retro-reflective Ceiling/Ambient Light Rejecting (CLR®/ALR) material that is specially made for UST (ultra-short throw) projectors. The material is now available in EPV’s reliable Power Max electric “roll-up” design. The screen is tab-tensioned to achieve the needed flatness to accommodate ultra-short throw projectors.
The DarkStar® UST comprises of a multi-layered design using angular serriform micro structures with diffusion stratum to create a bright, clear and artifact-free image. Its characteristics divert projected light from UST projectors into the viewer’s line of sight while the glare of other off-axis light sources is filtered out. An additional black substratum allows the material to enhance color contrast while producing deeper black levels. The DarkStar® Max UST includes IR and RF remote controls, a detachable wall box controller, and wired and wireless 12-volt trigger capability.

DarkStar® Max UST-FR
The DarkStar® Max UST-FR Series is a non-invasive motorized free-standing electric projection screen that features a Ceiling/Ambient Light Rejecting (CLR®/ALR) Ultra-short throw Projection material. The design features motorized “scissor-backed” cross risers that raise and lower the material.
Matte white screen materials don’t work well with the lights on and that limits them to dark room presentations. The DarkStar® UST material mitigates the washout effects of ambient light while boosting color saturation, contrast and black/white dynamic range. To minimize the projection footprint, the material is specially formatted tab-tension reinforced to work specifically with UST (ultra-short throw) projectors.
“Elite helped pioneer rollable, lenticular materials for motorized UST screens, and the new DarkStar Max UST-FR is a potential game changer for the emerging laser TV projector category,” said Rob Sabin, ProjectorCentral editor-in-chief. “Integrators can place the screen housing directly on a low-boy credenza and, critically, also now have the option to drop it into cabinetry that can hide the screen, projector and even audio components completely out of sight until needed.”

Polar Max Recessed
The Polar Max Recessed Series is an In-Ceiling projection screen that features a tensioned ambient/ceiling light rejecting (ALR/CLR®) material.
Polar Star® is an award winning, ISF-Certified front projection screen material that enhances picture brightness, color, contrast, and black/white levels for use in a bright or dark room. The screen uses a tab-tensioning system to achieve optimal flatness with surface tension uniformity. Infrared (IR) and Radio Frequency (RF) remotes are included, a detachable wall box controller, and wired and wireless 12-volt trigger capability. The retractable design provides a big screen performance without dedicating wall space to exclusively one purpose, enabling the viewer to enjoy greater versatility with a disappearing screen when not in use.
