The DarkStar® is a front projection screen material with ambient light rejecting properties. It has been designed for use in environments where ambient light cannot be entirely controlled. An added value is that it works exceptionally well in improving contrast in dark room environments as it does with high levels of ambient light.
The DarkStar® is a true optical lens based front projection screen material. Its specialized filter design eliminates ambient light wash-out by reflecting only the direct projected image. At the same time it deprives secondary luminosity from having an adequately reflective angle. The results are superior image brightness levels with enhanced contrast and color neutrality.
The DarkStar® 9 is Elite Prime Vision®’s newest Ambient Light Rejecting front projection screen. The DarkStar® 9 possesses very similar characteristics of our award winning 1.4 gain DarkStar® but now offers a wider viewing angle and a very close to unity gain without the compromise of ambient light rejection, contrast enhancement, resolution, and color accuracy.
As opposed to the 1.4 gain material of the original DarkStar® material, the DarkStar® 9 tones down the reflective brightness to .9 gain so that it may further enhance color temperature to more optimal performance levels with a wider viewing angle. Although both DS materials boast D65 color neutrality, the DarkStar® 9 sacrifices the extra brightness to improve its color balance.

The Peregrine HD 2 Series Series by EPV® Projection Screens is the industry leader in fixed frame projection design. It features a robust 3.5” wide frame with velvet coating framing its acclaimed CineWhite® 2 screen material. The 1.1 gain projection surface incorporates a new rubber-edge border that makes installation considerably easier and much less time consuming. As an added convenience, an installation kit is included.
The Polar Star® is EPV®’s latest edition to its line of Ambient Light Rejecting projection screens. Polar Star® is a polarized, angular reflective, ambient-light-rejecting front projection screen for the Home Cinema and Commercial markets. It is also exceptional in its handling of Active and Passive 3D technologies.
The Polar Star® material offers superb brightness and contrast through a combination of its highly reflective surface and gray diffusion layered coating. This angular-reflective-screen material has a brightness of 1.3 gain and a 70° viewing angle. This makes it ideal for home cinema and commercial applications alike. The Silver-Gray protective surface coating is a reflective compound that is polarized to allow its use in active or passive 3D presentations while maintaining a 92% polarization retention.
