Ambient Light Rejecting Electric Screen

Polar Max Recessed

Award
ISF Certified Products

The Polar Max Recessed Series is an In-Ceiling projection screen that features a tensioned ambient/ceiling light rejecting (ALR/CLR®) material.

Polar Star® is an award winning, ISF-Certified front projection screen material that enhances picture brightness, color, contrast, and black/white levels for use in a bright or dark room.  The screen uses a tab-tensioning system to achieve optimal flatness with surface tension uniformity. Infrared (IR) and Radio Frequency (RF) remotes are included, a detachable wall box controller, and wired and wireless 12-volt trigger capability. The retractable design provides a big screen performance without dedicating wall space to exclusively one purpose, enabling the viewer to enjoy greater versatility with a disappearing screen when not in use.

Screen Material

  • Polar Star® 1.3 Gain Ambient and Ceiling Light Rejecting (ALR/CLR®) front projection material
    • Multi-layer matrix uses reflective and absorbent micro-particles eliminate up to 85% of ambient light
    • High-contrast diffusion layers (Enhance black level dynamic range and color saturation)
    • Angular reflectivity negates light scatter artifacts and is ideal for residential or commercial applications
    • See the projected image exactly as the Film Director intended: ISF Certified for accurate Color Points (RGBCMY), Dynamic Range (black/white levels), Color Temperature (white point)
  • 4K/8K Ultra HD and HDR Ready
  • Not compatible with Ultra-short throw or Short-throw projectors
  • Black masking borders absorb projector overshoot while enhancing contrast perception
  • Tension tabs provide uniform surface tension for a perfectly flat projection surface
  • Available in the following diagonal sizes in 16:9 aspect ratio: 103”/115”/133”

Design, Installation and Controls

  • “Disappearing” in-ceiling design for multi-purpose media room applications
  • Design permits below or above ceiling access to accommodate installations from within the room or ceiling space
  • White enameled aluminum housing is durable and moisture resistant for structural integration
  • Includes handheld Infrared (IR) and Radio Frequency (RF) remote controls, and a wall box controller for manual on-wall operation.
  • User-friendly programmable vertical drop position for easy installation
  • Wall box controller is detachable for a clean look while maintaining RF & IR functionality
  • Built-in selectable channels allow one RF remote programming to control multiple screens and prevent interference
  • 12v trigger feature allows the screen’s UP/DOWN operation to synchronize with the projector’s power cycle
    • Wired 12v trigger capability via wall box controller
    • Wireless 12v trigger capability via Radio Frequency remote control

Notice to Installer:

Please use the following installation instructions to obtain superior optical performance from the Polar Star® Angular Reflective ALR (Ambient Light Rejecting) Screen.

  • Angular-Reflective material is not compatible with ultra/short-throw projectors
  • Minimum lens throw ratio 1.5x image width
  • Ambient light must not come from the same direction as the projector

Since angular-reflective means that the projected image will reflect at the mirror-opposite angle, it is important to position the projector so that the viewer will get the best possible image.

  • Step 1: Establish the general “eye level” of the viewers
  • Step 2: Set the appropriate projection level
  • Step 3: Adjust the screen height level and projection angle

Input Angle (A) = Output Angle (B) aligns with the viewer’s angle
